December 10, 200421 yr Hi everyone. I was wondering if it was possible to programmatically control an AI aircraft?I want to create a series of training profiles to demonstrate various TCAS scenarios. This would involve me saving a scenario with the airplane in the proper configuration, weather conditions, altitude, etc... After I do that, i'd also like to have AI airplane invade my airspace and have my TCAS come alive to specific parameters. Right now, the only way I can think of to make the TCAS do anything is to chase other airplanes around. As you can imagine, this is a huge waste of training time!Your response is sincerely appreciated,Enrique==========================Frequency change approved,Good day.
December 10, 200421 yr Author If you are talking about writing an application, then you might wanr to look at the new (a few minor versions ago) control of existing AI by FSUIPC as an interfacing medium. Download the SDK.If you create a traffic file where you will know what AI are where at what time then have a flight situation saved, you may get what you are looking for.I notice when loading a saved parked flight and turning on the TCAS the AI appear within the same positions arriving in the vicinity. If I load a weather scenerio and refresh the AI then they adjust appropriately.I have not tried this with a saved approach situation.By creating flight plan entries adjusting the percent threshold for each plan entry, adjusting the traffic slider should get you some control.A front end to traffic tools like AITM2 should enable you to create plans or edit current decompiled traffic files to produce what you need by stating various schedule parameters and associated aircraft. Remember that FS9 can use multiple trafficxxx.bgl files so for AI you can shuffle already compiled files to select and stack your AI tracks.
