ILS Nav Radio

Recommended Posts

I think I asked this question before but got no answer.  Is there nav radio for ILS radio frequency in autolanding.  I have yet to find one and therefore been unable to autoland.

Please let me know yes or no, and if yes, where is it?

Hi, Ben,

I don't own this plane, but look in the CDU (FMC screen), press the NAV/RAD (navigation radio) key and see if there is an ILS entry below the VOR L entry.  If so,should autotune the frequency for the selected runway (assuming it has an ILS and you have selected an ILS approach).  You can also manually tune it by typing frequency and course, for example 111.50/134 in the scratch pad and then selecting it, probably with the button just below the ILS entry, or maybe the one next to it.

EDIT:

Just checked the manual for the PMDG FS9 747 which I do own. It works as I described.  But if somehow a manually tuned ILS frequency got set in the ILS section of the NAV/RAD window, the autotune won't function.  So if you see a frequency that is incorrect in there, delete it using the delete key.  It should then autotune the ILS.

Mike
