December 13, 200421 yr There is only one thing the DF 727 leaves me wanting. MORE TIME!!!!!!!!!I stayed up till 2 am winging around last night knowing I'd be paying for it today. Then I fell asleep and started dreaming about her! I can honestly say I've never had FS dreams before this. Literally DREAMFLEET!! hah!Seriously though, it's that good. Even spent some time getting her up and running from a cold and dark cockpit and found it a JOY to get running, with everything working the way it was supposed to. Logically made windows and clickspots clearly designed by SIMMERS for SIMMERS make the cockpit seem like it's working FOR you instead of against you. Some payware feels like you are fighting the design to get it to work, this one seems to flow with you, giving the impression that the bird has a personality. Soul perhaps. The flight dynamics are amazing. She is easily trimmed and feels much like the cockpit in that she feels like she's working for you instead of against you. She rewards smooth movements but can take swift adjustments just as well. In a plane that was largely hand flown this is just so important.I'm at work and I can't fly her, so I'm just stuck talking about her. __Josh
December 13, 200421 yr Yep, you're right. This 727 IMO sets a new standard. I just hand flew it from fl350 to rnwy24r at LAX. Landed perfectly and had a great time. It's kind of fun actually flying the airplane for once. The performance on my pc is the best I've seen. Compared to a lot of other packages out there, I assumed that it would would be a hog, so not the truth. This proves that you can have a very complex design and still make it smooth and flyable. Just a great job!
December 13, 200421 yr Commercial Member Thanks guys, from the whole team.http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg Cheers Paul Golding
December 13, 200421 yr NO NO NO !! I said and promised myself NO more payware before Christmas, I can't afford it. I can feel myself and wallet moving ever close to your D/L link arggghhhhhh. Seriously - Well done Paul and all at DF. Loved your 737 - know I'm gonna love this too. I'm off to get it now. Guess the war department's gonna have to go without another stocking filler this year (again) :-lol Best WishesEddy
December 13, 200421 yr HeHeHe.....Been beta testing it, but the first plane I flew today was the 727. 2Pc's, FS with WideClient. Second PC has ActiveSky. ILS into PAKT, ceiling at 1500 with rain. Hand flew the ILS to a lovley landing.Thats the thing about this 727 - it rewards a good pilot with super smooth FDE and a great sense of fullfilment - even after months of beta testing it!Ray Keattch.
December 14, 200421 yr Ugh... now I gotta go get a christmas tree on the way home. "Honey, we can get that...tomorrow..." "THATS WHAT YOU SAID YESTERDAY!!! YOU CAN PLAY YOUR LITTLE PLANE GAME LATER!"She KNOWS it's not a game. Explaining the sim to an un-simmer is just about impossible. Somehow the phrase "flight dynamics" doesn't seem to translate well."But it doesn't DO anything, you can't even shoot at anything! All those big monitors and joysticks (ITS A YOKE!!!) why can't you just get an XBOX like everyone else???" Oh well, who needs sleep anyway???__Josh
December 14, 200421 yr Josh,<<>>In the State of Mississippi, I do believe that experession is valid grounds for divorce. . That and a wife telling you that you can't go huntin or ridin your horse! But I'm sure you will be creative to get it all done, with time to spare. Carry on, Sir!Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
December 14, 200421 yr Maybe using the tex-o-matic program you can paint a 727 with her name as the airline. Put her face on the tail and tell her "honey this so I can see you while enjoying my hobby". :-sae
December 14, 200421 yr In California a divorce just entitles you to be nagged MORE. lol"What do you MEAN you want me to bring the tree INSIDE?!??!?" "Decorate...together??"___Josh
December 14, 200421 yr Thanks folks for this thread. I have one devil of a cold and you brought a smile to my face. Best,
December 14, 200421 yr :-lol :-lol :-lol I so hear and sympathise with this stuff every day from the war department / home office. All you ever do blah blah blah blah blah blah play your gameI've been married for just over a year now - I reckon I've had a good innings so far considering my ability to completely ignore the cries from 'er down stairs. heheRegardsEd
December 14, 200421 yr Worked out alright last night, was able to get a nice flight in. The funny thing is when I try to use speakers instead of headphones I usually do ok until the outer marker beep warning at which point I get yelled at. "WHAT IS THAT?!?!?!?" (fake worried voice like the house is on fire or something)"Its just the outer marker....""TURN IT OFF!!!"Generally it's all in good fun though.Vatsim time is my sacred time and I don't think I've ever been interrupted doing that. Simming has always been there and she knows it always will be.__Josh
December 15, 200421 yr Ed and Josh:If you have not already heard this one which is similar to your replies, I think you will enjoy it. I sure thought it was funny.NOT AN ORIGINAL POST! Owed to some kind soul months ago, (or I guess it may be years now - how time flys.)In the days of past Flight Sim versions, a popular and very good addon was ProPilot. This gave you the capability of communicating with ATC by voice. The gentlemen in question was in the middle of a cross country flight when his wife walked through. As she passed within microphone range, she yelled out: "MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY"!This was an acceptable and active communication within ProPilot, and ATC immediately closed the flightplan and started instructions for a forced landing at the nearest airport. End of flight for the poor husband!Happy flying:RTH 1585368CFI
December 15, 200421 yr hahaha I can see that happening. She thinks its the funniest thing in the world when she comes in, looks serious and says "I just want you to know, Good luck, and we're all counting on you" then goes cackling down the hall. I laughed the first few times... __Josh
