W8 and tweaking

Hi,

 

As we all struggle for best performance, I thought I'd share my experience.

 

It all started actually when I moved from Dx9 to Dx10 a month ago.

Prior to that, I had set up my pc following the guidelines and experimented until I had found my happy medium.

 

With DX10 I took a new look at my tweaks, read the AVSIM manual, the remarks at the forums and was doing my test run over and over again.

 

The outcome has surprised me, but I guess W8 gets the credits; I have removed all my tweaks and get better frames per second now.

No more Affinity Masks, Bufferpools, FFFT etc. W8 handles it very nicely.

 

Give it a try, remove your tweaks and make a known flight. You might see the same performance increase as I do.

PS, an expert told me W8.1 indeed kills certain apps that are needed, so do not upgrade.
