November 23, 201312 yr I saw a thread in the French language AVSIM Thread on this topic. I thought this is something I need to starting thinking of.. What is the most painless way to lverage your FSX Installs when we install the new P3D V2 in the same PC. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/426800-migration-fsx-vers-p3d-v2/#entry2857475 http://www.flightsim.ee/products/migration-tool The challenge is in our addon scenery. The most arduous and time consuming unlike addon aircraft which I personally don't mind re-installing. I am thinking of doing this. 1) Mega scenery - Simply cut paste the scenery.cfg entries over and thats it. 2) FSDT airports, reinstall. 3) Fly Tampa - scenery.cfg entry? would this work or do we need to reinstall? 4) Orbx - This is going to be a challenge. Is there a way to avoid reinstallng two versions of them? I know I would have no choice to reinstall the PNW and other zones...but for individual airports, I can simply add an entry in scenery.cfg for the P3D V2. Yes I may lose the people animation..but that is not tonally required..I can live without animation of people... Anyone got better ideas? 5) Aircraft - What if there is no new install programs (and its ok as per EULA),..how do we migrate these over? Let say CS 727. How do I know what the gauges are there that belongs to 727 that I need to copy over.? Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
