December 18, 200421 yr Saw this little plane for purchase at simmarket. Anyone has any experience with this plane or the company who has produced it?ricardo
December 18, 200421 yr I've used it for a few month. It's nice little plane, interesting, and can a bit challenging. The plane isn't finished but most things work, enough systems to make it a challenge. So be warned it's like a public beta, being updated regulary. Even though it isn't finished it's still better and just as complete as many other payware releases imo. It's a very high quality plane, which means it will work best on a high end PC (a well balanced PC as well)Support seems to be ok, you can check out the forum at the developers homepage, as well as you can download a demo to see if it will run decent on your PC.The home page is : http://www.east-intel.com/yak40/index_e.htmCheersPeter
December 18, 200421 yr Definitely get it if you like russian aircraft and/or regiaonal/business jets...See my review in simmarket.
December 18, 200421 yr There's also a very nice freeware Yak-40 available :http://yak-40.nm.ruhttp://yak-40.nm.ru/files.htmlJust click on the screenshots to download Panel, side views and models (textures).Michael
December 18, 200421 yr Caved in to temptation and bought it. Runs decent on my systems. Support forum seems to be moribund. Developer promised various additional manuals (there is talk about "in depth e-books" in the skinny 43 manual), but never seems to have delivered on that promise. Apparently, "training videos" are being produced. Lol. Where are those? There is one short clip on the forum; it's lame. It's a shame. There really is a market for great Russian planes. ricardo
December 18, 200421 yr Yep, the support forum is on the lite side, also to me it looks as thought the YAK40 has been dropped like a hot brick to concentrate on other projects.Yes, it is a nice plane, but it had so much potential, and at the moment its almost in beta condition, it could have been so much more though.Dan.

The only down side of so many quality freeware Russian planes is that I don't have time to fly them all and end flying only the Project Tupolev Tu-154 :) . Nice sort of problem though ;) .Regards,Daniel

Or is it a tendency amongst Russian developers? I also bought igfly's Tupolev - still waiting for the virtual cockpit that was promised. The A 310 by simsoft (also a Russian designer group) seems half-finished, with the programmers having little interest in providing further substantial updates. I gues at some point it just doesn't make economic sense anymore to support the product. ricardo
December 18, 200421 yr It's Russian...CS is also Russian, they even go as far as to threaten people who want a refund...
December 18, 200421 yr Daniel,a pleasure to hear. Thanks also for the support in the Russian forum! The team is working for the BIG happy new year gift ;). Version 9.4 that is, with new Tu-154B2 visual model, Virtual Cockpit (of course versions with and without VC), plenty of more details added (I leave that a surprise), enhanced 120 page english manual. And as before, for both FS 2002 and FS 2004. Michael
