Crash on load... need to know what file causes error!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,I bought the DF727 and I load the tutorial flight but it crashes every time at 51%. I know it's "loading terrain" at that point and the only thing I can pinpoint is that it happens because the tutorial flight is in the winter (it didn't work when I did creat a flight in the winter too). The error also reads the problem as "unknown" so I think it's a problem taht isn't .dll or .exe related. Does anyone know of a program to see what files are loading while FS loads?? I'd really like to know what file causes the error. I also did uninstall any addon afcads/scenery/mesh that were remotely close, but like I said, it works in the fall season, just not in the winter. Thanks!-Cal

Even if the error is unknown, it should still tell you what caused the exception, if you look at the error report. BTW, an exception is a programming term- if something doesn't go right, the program "throws an exception". Bug trapping. Just a little nugget in case anyone cared :)

Thanks guys. The file scanner stopped right after loading the weather folders, though I'm still not sure as this only happens in the winter. As for the exception, I have no idea where to look in the error report to find what threw it. I'm no programmer so most of it is just random code to me. If anyone could elaborate where to find out what file is the culprit and how to interpret the data, I'd be quite grateful! Thanks!-Cal

hmmmm..Have you installed the MS patch for MSFS2004?patch here:http://www.microsoft.com/games/flightsimulator/downloads.aspCould be the seasonal thing some were experiencing. Also before installing the product, did you install any scenery? You may need to backtrack the problem to something you installed recently. You can also take a screen pic of the error box an dpost it here as well.Regards,Joe
