FSX sceneries: texture conversion?

Recommended Posts

As many of us fiddled out now, P3D naked runs very fine.

Till the point you copy over some FSX sceneries (which have been in the worst case also been FS9 conversions).

Then frames drop ....

What I wonder now is, if a conversion of the textures couldn't give us some frames back?

I have no clue about that stuff, so the question is to some devs or anybody else who knows which image formats are used in P3D?!

So, if we convert to DXT5 etc and so on, would we probably gain something?

(the answer could be, wait till the devleopers bring out native P3D installers. But even with that installers we have FS9/FSX portovers and some developers are relatively lazy with porting over their stuff. And in many cases you have no alternative to choose a different developer. At least, some nice sceneries are not developed any more at all)

many thanks,

Guenter
