Could someone give me a hand?

I downloaded a scenery file for some Quebec bush scenery and followed the instructions carefully in installing it. However, the instructions don't say anything about how to find it once FS9 is launched. They also say something about activating Quebec SH9 in the scenery library. That sounds like something we used to have to do in FS2002. But this files says it's for FS2004.I'm not exactly sure how to add scenery to FS2004 so I may have put something in the wrong place. If someone who is knowledgable about adding scenery to FS2004 could assist me I would really appreciate it. I'll be glad to give them the details about exactly where I put everything if they are willing to help me.Thanks.Dewey

Hi Dewey,Let's see..."activating Quebec SH9" ("SH" stands for "Short Hops") means that you have to activate your new 'Quebec Short Hops' add-on via the FS9 scenery library. Usually, you unzip a file into a temporary directory. Then you make a new folder (unless one is supplied) with a descriptive name, e.g., "Quebec Short Hops by Leon Louis".In that folder you place the texture and scenery subfolders, then you move "Quebec Short Hops by Leon Louis" into your "FS9Addon Scenery" directory (or wherever you prefer to keep your add-ons).Also, if there are any special effects etc. included you need to move them into the appropriate folders as per instructions.Start FS9, then select the Scenery Library, select "Add Scenery", then browse to "Quebec Short Hops by Leon Louis" and click OK/Add.Re-start FS9, and set up a flight. Usually, Leon provides an AFCAD2 file with his sceneries, so you can just type the ICAO of the airfield (e.g., CSY3) into your airport selection window.Enjoy Leon's great series of add-ons!Cheers, Holger

Thanks for taking the time to respond. It would appear that I have done all the steps just as you outlined them, including activating the Quebec SH9 scenery. But I don't know where the scenery area actually is so I don't know how to find it. I tried typing in CSY3 with no results so I suspect not everything is in the correct place.I'll keep poking around at it. Also, I found the last page of the instructions with Louis' Web site and Email. If I can't get it going I'll Email him directly. Thanks again, and happy holidays.Dewey

This is a file published by Leon that indicates where his sceneries are. Looks like there's a listing also by name and code.qsh_map1.zip

Hi there. To find the folder of the Leon Louis scenery you need first to remember where you downloaded it to! And where it finished up ready to be uploaded into FS9. Let's say you put it in to a new folder you made called "sim scenery" and you had put that folder in "my documents", then that is where it will be when you want to add it to FS9 Then, once FS9 is running go to Scenery Library and click "add area". This opens the box and you then browse through the folders there by either double clicking or right clicking and 'open', until you get to your L.L. scenery- you don't open that to show the scenery and textures folders-just click it once to get it to go blue, then click ok. If all is well that scenery area will go to the top of the list. You will then need to restart FS9 to get it to show.
