December 22, 200421 yr Has anyone tried the new version of Flight Keeper(2.5)? If so, what do you think of the new features? Does the ability to display navaids now give it most of the functionality of FSNav, say(I know it has many unique features, as well). How do I uninstall a previous TRIAL version(2.0), or, perhaps I can install the new version over it?I note that the price has risen by 5 Euro, after an initial special offer of 24.95 Euro. Thanks,Frank
December 22, 200421 yr Hi Frank,I used the 2.5 trial and was impressed enough to purchase it a few days later. The moving map is very nice with everything displayed. I suggest a second screen for viewing. FSNav should still be used for flight planning.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
December 22, 200421 yr I have it since ver 2.0 and like all the new features very much. The best thing with Flight Keeper is I can go back several months and study a flight in detail. There are zillions of facts for each flight in the database, including an exact plotted flightpath with weather at the time on a map.BUT - I use together with FSNav in realtime when flying. In FSNav you have all the navaids incl. frequenses, intersections, airways and also terrain (peaks with alt. in feet).Cheers,Jan Bergwall
December 23, 200421 yr Thanks, Jim and Jan.Will probably purchase after the holidays.Happy Christmas,Frank
December 23, 200421 yr It also has a very nippy PIREP feature -http://www.ukdirectva.co.uk/FlightService/...220040712102121 - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
December 23, 200421 yr Author Looks pretty nice. Can that be switched to Lbs fuel? Are the gates in & out picked up from the bgl, or does that have to be filled in manually.* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest SkrypuchUAL1445 DENFOCYFD - Canada Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com
December 23, 200421 yr The default is set to lbs. I converted to KGs. Remember, it's only the Americans who still use lbs to load fuel ;) The rest of the world switched to KGs and metric tonnes a long time ago.The Gate numbers are indeed picked up from the AFCAD bgls. - Dean P3Dv4 & XP11 space
