Restore default airport data after WED goes wrong?

Recommended Posts

Recently, one of my small airports started showing scenery from past builds and I cannot remove them.  Yes, I can remove the airport from custom scenery and the original taxiway (which was removed as this airport doesn't have one) is there, but some of the buildings I added many months ago and then removed/modified are sitting out in the middle of fields bordering the runway/taxiway.

They have got to be there somewhere, but I can't find their source.

Any thoughts?

Hello John

I had a similar problem very recently and found the answer is extra dsf files that get left behind, so look in your custom airports' "Earth nav data" and delete the dsf files. Then when you export your package only those in your package will be replaced.

PS Be careful if you have multi airports in your package, I haven't tried it with more than one airport. So maybe safer to keep a backup copy of your "Earth nav data" folder.

Regards

Hi just an after thought. Don't go deleting anything that you haven't already saved in WED. Only the dsf files from your WED work so all you then need to do is re export your scenery package

Thanks jasonX.  I'll try this over the snowy spell we are supposed to get tomorrow.

Found nothing there, but remembered that one day last winter I was editing the airport and when I saved, Brussels came up. I don't know why it happened, but for some reason it came back to me.   Looked in there and there was my data.  Deleted it and everything is ok.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction jasonX.

All is good.
