ATis at LAX

Featured Replies

I am having problems with the Atis at LAX in the past few weeks. When I set my wind at 250 at x knots it still says arrivals and departures are on 7L and 7R, 6L and 6R. It should be 25L and 25R and 24L and 24R. Other aiports are fine like KSNA uses 19L and 19R according to the wind direction. Any ideas why this might be? I had been running a week ago and incindently my scheduled virus scan came on when I was running the program. I also had some problems installing the FSkyworld at first and a few broken files caused fs to crash a few times. Could this have caused the problem?Any info would be helpful.Thank You,

What wind setting are you using? Turning up the wind speed might help, I've noticed that at some airports the direction only changes above a certain wind speed.

WHy not just disable 6's and 7's in the AFCAD. 24s/25s are use 99% of the time anyway.Matt

I have used 3 to 5 knotts. Light and variable winds to 5000ft high. then add another layer and so on at 250. I'll try a stronger wind at first to see if it changes. Also maybe I should get afcad and install the lax afcad and have 25L and 25R 24L and 24R by default.

It's good to know that I'm not crazy. I was trying to set up a flight from lax to sea yesterday using ActiveSky 4.5. Would start the sim then ActiveSky . Winds were in the area of 80* at 5-6 kts. and wind info. passed through to the sim correctly. RadarContact insisted I use one of the eastbound runways while ( regardless of what I did ) MS ATChuckle insisted on using westbound runways. Usually reloading the traffic percentage or bumping up the date or time to force a traffic reload fixes things but not yesterday. Tried several other airports and things were fine. Really like to find the reason behind this one! JimBob"Master of the Sr. Moment"Upon further review ....... AFCAD mod had eastbounds closed for takeoff !!! DUH , hence "Master of the Sr. Moment" , now if I could just find that "overly hot Co-pilot" that I left laying around here somewhere ...
