When I try to set up live camera views in the standard captain's seat VC view in this plane the panel disappears ...

Check the view cycling for that aircraft and make sure all the views are as they should be. The Opus LC only selects the view mode and adjusts the eye point. Make sure your eye point hasn't moved to say in front of the panel. Try setting all XYZ and PBY entries to 0.0 to force the eye point back into its default unaltered position within the VC cockpit. Also make sure you have the VC view mode selected in the camera view type and not say 2D cockpit.
