December 24, 201312 yr Commercial Member Please download and install the latest 3.39.3 beta and enable the Cloud Smoothing option. Also please read our SimForums Announcements regarding this improved smoothing option. We recommend Cloud Smoothing but do not recommend enabling cloud smoothing at your Destination as this will most likely result in inaccurate cloud formations there. But its up to you. Please note whenever there are extremes, that is mostly clear skies with few patches of cloud, or mostly cloud cover with few holes, FSX may remove the few clouds or fill in the gaps almost randomly. But the latest 3.39.3 Cloud Smoothing and wind targeting is greatly improved. Most users find it perfectly fine and acceptable since all cloud cover is totally preserved. The new OpusFSI 2014 interface will provide an option to suppress all cloud shifting and popping, but there is a price to pay whenever this is done in the sim. Please read our Recommended Practices though and get used to using the Opus on screen weather reports. The Destination report even has a new (Actual) label appended to inform you that the weather 'inside' the sim at your Destination has been checked and verified. Stephen :-)
