Okay, I'm the one that frequently extols the virtues of the Noctua NH-D14.

 

After checking out the reviews of the Thermalright Archon SB-E x2 I have to say I'm stunned by how well it performs. It's actually on a par with the D14. And surprisingly it's a single tower cooler. 

 

It seems that Thermalright have worked miracles with this cooler, I would imagine thanks to the multitude of heat pies. And best of all, no RAM clearance issues.

 

So to all those individuals who have been subjected to my D14 favouritism, do consider the Thermalright Archon SB-E x2.

 

I'm setting up my son with a PC, so looking for a new MB, CPU and RAM. So guess which cooler I'll be buying?
