Please cast an eye over my scenery cfg

Trying to find whats causing some of my 3rd party airports to show big grey "building like" boxes?? and also some mixing of default and new scenery as well, only on some airports, most are fine.I thought there may have been some missing Nova textures so I reinstalled those, so Im wondering if its not a scenery priority or a landclass problem. I have my Trees_0.bgl in scenery/base/scenery NovaLib1.bgl scenery/world/scenery.Any suggestions appreciated.CheersPete :)[General]Title=FS9 World SceneryDescription=FS9 Scenery DataClean_on_Exit=FALSE[Area.001]Title=Default TerrainTexture_ID=1Layer=1Active=TRUERequired=TRUELocal=SceneryWorldRemote=[Area.002]Title=Default SceneryLayer=2Active=TRUERequired=TRUELocal=SceneryBASERemote=[Area.003]Title=AfricaLayer=3Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryAfriRemote=[Area.004]Title=AsiaLayer=4Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryAsiaRemote=[Area.005]Title=AustraliaLayer=5Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryAustRemote=[Area.006]Title=Eastern EuropeLayer=6Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryEURERemote=[Area.007]Title=Western EuropeLayer=7Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryEURWRemote=[Area.008]Title=Central North AmericaLayer=8Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryNAMCRemote=[Area.009]Title=Eastern North AmericaLayer=9Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryNAMERemote=[Area.010]Title=Western North AmericaLayer=10Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryNAMWRemote=[Area.011]Title=OceaniaLayer=11Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryOcenRemote=[Area.012]Title=South AmericaLayer=12Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=ScenerySameRemote=[Area.013]Title=FS2004 Default RoadsLayer=13Active=FALSERequired=FALSELocal=SCENERYROAD2004Remote=[Area.014]Title=MyWorld2004Layer=14Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryMyWorld2004Remote=[Area.015]Title=Amsterdam Aerial PhotoLayer=15Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesAmsterdRemote=[Area.016]Title=Anchorage Aerial PhotoLayer=16Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesAnchorRemote=[Area.017]Title=Atlanta Aerial PhotoLayer=17Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesAtlantaRemote=[Area.018]Title=Chicago Aerial PhotoLayer=18Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesChicagoRemote=[Area.019]Title=Dallas Aerial PhotoLayer=19Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesDallasRemote=[Area.020]Title=Denver Aerial PhotoLayer=20Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesDenverRemote=[Area.021]Title=Heathrow Aerial PhotoLayer=21Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesHeathrowRemote=[Area.022]Title=Hong Kong Aerial PhotoLayer=22Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesHongkongRemote=[Area.023]Title=Kitty Hawk Aerial PhotoLayer=23Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesKittyhwkRemote=[Area.024]Title=Las Vegas Aerial PhotoLayer=24Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesLasvegasRemote=[Area.025]Title=Los Angeles Aerial PhotoLayer=25Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesLaRemote=[Area.026]Title=Miami Aerial PhotoLayer=26Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesMiamiRemote=[Area.027]Title=New York Aerial PhotoLayer=27Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesNewYorkRemote=[Area.028]Title=Niagara Aerial PhotoLayer=28Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesNiagaraRemote=[Area.029]Title=Oshkosh Aerial PhotoLayer=29Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesOshkoshRemote=[Area.030]Title=Paris Aerial PhotoLayer=30Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesParisRemote=[Area.031]Title=Phoenix Aerial PhotoLayer=31Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesPhoenixRemote=[Area.032]Title=San Francisco Aerial PhotoLayer=32Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesSanfranRemote=[Area.033]Title=Seattle Aerial PhotoLayer=33Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesSeattleRemote=[Area.034]Title=St. Maarten Aerial PhotoLayer=34Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesStmaartenRemote=[Area.035]Title=Sydney Aerial PhotoLayer=35Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesSydneyRemote=[Area.036]Title=Tokyo Aerial PhotoLayer=36Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=SceneryCitiesTokyoRemote=[Area.037]Title=Generic LibrariesLayer=37Active=TRUERequired=TRUELocal=SceneryGenericRemote=[Area.038]Title=Vehicle LibrariesLayer=38Active=TRUERequired=TRUELocal=SceneryVehiclesRemote=[Area.039]Title=Propeller ObjectsLayer=39Active=TRUERequired=TRUELocal=ScenerypropsRemote=[Area.040]Title=Australian MeshLayer=40Active=TRUERequired=FALSELocal=Addon SceneryAustralian MeshRemote=[Area.041]Title=TerraMesh1 Switzerland

Not sure if this is significant or not, but comparing your *.cfg file readout with mine, I see no entry like this example: [Area.001] above each title. Also, you seem to have a lot of scenery under the same sub-folder which probably hinders layering.Do you manually edit your *.cfg file?

It seems my example won't reproduce so I'll try to explain. Above each Title, the following should appear: Area.001 surrounded by the left and right lower case "squared" style bracket on your keyboard. These appear in order; thus the next entry down would be: Area.002 and so on.

It just occurred to me as I was sending the last reply that you likely _do_ have those entries but they fail to display within these boards probably because those brackets mean something else!!Anyway, I still suspect your folder system as being problematic.

Shouldn't make much of a difference but my Trees_0.bgl is located in my Addon Scenery/Scenery folder. The big grey building like boxes at some airports can result if you have a demo and unregistered version of Simflyers scenery. You may have to reinstall and reenter your registration number to correct this. Jim

My understanding is trees_0.bgl goes in sceneryworldscenery. I'm pretty sure FS will find it in the other locations, so I'm not going to say those are wrong. I'm not 100% sure where it really belongs, I just did what I was told when it didn't work the first time.If it's in the wrong place, nothing appears in the scenery, no trees, no grey boxes or poly's, just nothing. So I don't think that's going to be the problem.

Yes I have had a problem with Simflyers in the past but theres no mistaking it as the boxes display "simflers" and only effects the relevent scenery. The original scenery does show the area titles in quotation marks but does not show on the copy for this post.I use a small utility called "SCM2004" by Hans Hartmann to organize my cfg. Thanks to all that responded so farCheersPete :)

You're depending upon a utility to organize your *.cfg file. I don't use any such utility now, nor have I in the past and I don't experience the problems you're pointing out. And I design and upload scenery and I've yet to use a "tool" to organize the *.cfg file. I'd suggest re-organizing your scenery folders/subfolders _without_ the utility and let MS create or configure the *.cfg file based upon the Scenery Library entries and see what happens....can't be any worse than your current situation.

Soughted ! :) It appears there were missing Nova or Airport files after all, installed all those again and all looks well. Thanks to allCheers Pete :)

Did you place the textures for the trees and the Nova library in the FS9texture folder? The Trees_0.bgl is to go in the FS9scenerybasescenery folder.Joe W.
