January 3, 201412 yr The color designations originate from their Australian sceneries and would describe the general type of nature within the coverage area - for example FTX AU Red would be the arid Australian Outback, FTX AU Green is the tropical north etc. They used those colors for some of the FTX NA sceneries as well, but have downplayed their importance. For example, if you click on FTX PNW on their main page, it actually still says "Blue" while Central Rockies is actually a "Gold" region. -
