auto throttles interfere with ch throttles

My auto throttles work great with the 737NG, I could push them up and engage the auto throttles, no problems.

I can not do this with the 777. Auto throttles must stay off until I am on the run way, then I have to hit TOGA from idle.

No fun. Any ideas on how to fix this?
