January 10, 201412 yr In FSX if I click on clear skies or partly cloudy skies, I will get clouds. A lot of time I will encounter rain or snow and very low visibility while landing. I will list only the items that are checked in OPUS ; There is also cloud popping. I have REX, but that weather is disabled along with FSX Weather. - Disable weather updates on start up. - Adjust options automatically. - Adjust Sim friendly options. * Download Options - Weather refresh every 10 mins. - Weather Updates every 20 mins. - Sim friendly Grib temperature. _ Background Grib processing. - Disable update on approach. -NOAA Server. * Smoothing and Stabilization. - Automatic wind stabilization. - Enable cloud smoothing. * General User - Thunderstorm requires... - Include wing flex. - Disable low overcast effect. - Disable fog. - Disable mist. - Default surface Visibility 48 km. I know the cloud popping is a separate matter , but if you have any thoughts please let me know. Thanks in advance.
January 10, 201412 yr Commercial Member Why are you clicking on clear skies ? It looks like you have just loaded a static theme and corrupted your weather. Please upgrade to the latest release version, read and follow the Recommended Practices and Settings listed in the new Avsim topic and best not click on any of the static theme options they will certainly just mess up your weather. Don't forget to go through and check your dialogs and set all defaults in the weather dialogs after upgrading. Stephen
January 10, 201412 yr Author I clicked on clear skies because I wanted to fly in clear skies, lol. I didn't know it would mess things up.
January 11, 201412 yr Disable the OpusFSX weather engine first (in the OpusFSX configuration dialogue), then you can click on 'clear skies' in the weather theme selection in FSX.
