Updated shaded, and No Weahter Available At Present

Featured Replies

Hi Stephen,

(long time no see... everything was nice and running smoothly... until)

yesterday I was flying MN513, 737NGX from FALA (Lanseria, RSA) to FALE (Durban's new airport) and shortly after starting my descend FSX crashed entirely.

Since then some stuff is rather strange.

1. The Opus FSI Server windows' button 'Weather' shows now steadily 'Updating' shaded.

2. The FSX Opus Weather Report window does not show the GRIB downloading windows automatically.

3. If I chose 1 - Local Area Weahter Report it says ' 1 - No Weather Available At Present'. No weather is shown here anymore.

4. Else I see in the spy window 'GEN Site Effects: 93 Opus, 0 User, 93 in Total', which I have never seen before.

5. Sitting now in FACT it spy says: 158 MetStns, 0 Metars Available. Is a server down somewhere?

6. However, the GRIB folder contains today's *.dat and *.csv files. Everything looks fine here.

A. I took the chance to update the software to 3,41.0 now, but to no avail: Same behaviour.

B. I uninstalled FALE again, since an entirely new airport might trouble FSX. No change.

C. I uninstalled Opus, delete the GRIB folder as advised in your FAQ pages. No change .(Anyway, the files where there.)

D. I uninstalled Opus, deleted everything, cleaned the registry files up, rebooted, installed again the latest OpusFSX.msi file.

Opus asks me for the installation folder: C:\_fsx, else I set all as described in the pdf tutorial. All this does not help.

What's going on?

Thank you in advance.

The NOAA server is inoperative. See our announcement here,

http://forum.avsim.net/topic/431961-noaa-server-inoperative/

Shouldn't have caused FSX to crash though. For the time being please select one of the other weather server options (VATSIM or IVAO) in the Opus Weather Downloads dialog.

Thank you, Cheryl

NOAA server didn't say anything to me. Sorry, now it is clear.
