Ultimate Traffic - what specs are REALLY needed?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,What specs do those of you who use Ultimate Traffic have and do you get smooth performance? I bought it, tried it for a while at varying traffic levels and ultimately returned it because I was dissapointed in the performance.Specs:P4 2.4 400mhz FSB1 gig RamATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128 meg videoWindows XP homeThanks for the feedback.I'm starting to think that to run FS9 with anything more than a default plane and default scenery (heck, a default installation - no third party mesh, water, airports, ect.) require A LOT more than what my machine can give.I can play most every other program on the market at acceptable performance levels.I've been around flight sims since the C64 sublogic version, but this constant "tweaking" is really turning into a waste of time and has me on the verge of dumping this hobby for a while....Any words of support for this fs fan who really doesn't want to give in, but's the effort involved to just use the sim doesn't seem worth it anymore.Sorry for the rant...

I have all kinds of add-ons, and basically have what you have as far as a system , and mine runs OK.

I don't necessarily agree - I added all my own traffic and set it all to 1% in the traffic.bgl. So, if I turn the traffic slider up to 40% or so, it will still show the same traffic. However, doing so DOES affect performance (although it's still showing the same thing as if set to 1%).Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
