January 14, 201412 yr Hi Stephen. i was reading about the issues in the last few days but i have a different issue. in a middle of a flight all of a sudden i cant switch to other cameras and it looks like the opus is not functioning. i minimized the FSX and saw that even the updating button info is just stuck in "updating". its only solved when i close the opus and open it again. any ideas ? thank you ! btw i have it in both 3.42 and 3.41. January 14, 201412 yr Commercial Member Don't use version 3.42 at the moment, I'm busy preparing a new beta for that upgrade. The weather button will grey out and change to updating when the LWE is downloading and generating new weather. If in flight then it shouldn't be downloading GRIB data, just METARs, for some reason it appears to be getting stuck. If you restart the program, open the Spy window and then perform an update you might see it struggling to download METARs from the NOAA site. If so you can switch to the VATSIM or IVAO servers for the time being. Over the past few days there have been occasional problems with NOAA METAR access which would result in exactly what you are seeing. If you opened Spy you may see the LWE struggle to receive any METAR replies from NOAA. In Version 3.42 we tried to quickly post a fix for this but 3.42 isn't really ready so we had to remove it until ready to post a beta. That will be available this week sometime. So, best stick to 3.41 at present and if it starts sticking you could have a quick peek at the download process to confirm the problem. Another solution is to select the historic data option and make sure your date and time are set correct in the sim. The problems accessing the NOAA site do not apply to downloading historic METAR cycles. I will work at getting 3.42 ready ASAP. Regards Stephen

January 25, 201412 yr Commercial Member Just a simconnect failure, you must restart fsxserver as sim will not recover. Planned upgrade soon will do this automatically but for now you must restart. The disconnect is at sim end of link so full restart of fsxservrr needed. Stephen
January 25, 201412 yr Commercial Member The previous answer was using the mobile phone so I can now add some further information. This was posted in our SimForums Coming Soon topic ... SimConnect Error Recovery ... We are working on an automatic procedure to recover the FSXSERVER program's operation after any SimConnect exceptions. SimConnect never seems to recover after any exceptions which can occur when the sim is too busy to answer a SimConnect request. The sim appears to disconnect its SimConnect in such circumstances. The new recovery procedure will perform a warm restart simulating you manually restarting the FSXSERVER program. The warm restart will also include automatically regenerating the weather. Hopefully this process will not take too long and should go unnoticed. Stephen :-)
January 25, 201412 yr Author Thanks for the further explanation Stephen. MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28
