Odd Sound problem

Featured Replies

I Have a very odd sound problem. When I click a button in some aircraft, I get a VERY loud sound in my right speaker/headphone. The sound goes away when I look left or right, and remains gone when I return to ahead view. I first noticed this with the Aldus MD80, but have now noticed it in other aircraft as well. I have tried to adjust hardware acceleration, sound quality etc. But the problem stil comes back. It is driving me crazy. Any sugestions?

I think I have found out the sound is the runwayroll sound. I do not know what caused this and I have been using Flight Sim since C64 days and have never had a problem I could not solve. I have also noticed that some panel sounds work even after I press the Q to turn it off. Does this mean that FS9 is going "outside" the sim to play the sounds? I am at wits end and really do not want to do the whole reinstall dance, but I may have to if no one has any better ideas. Thanks again!

I guess since no one seems to know the answer or will even respond, I should have asked a question like what is your favorite plane, or what do you think will be in FS2006 or 2008 or maybe I should have said, sacrifice a chicken and turn you seat around three times and your stutters will be gone when you turn all of your sliders up to the max. With all the knowledge out there I find it hard to belive that no one has expericned this problem or can even offer a suggestion. :(

Hi,Sorry I can't be much help, but I can say that the Fanda Dash 8 panel sounds are independent of FS and "Q" will not quite them. Not sure I have noticed this on any other a/c tho.Regards,

>> I think I have found out the sound is the runwayroll sound. What happens when you get temporarily get rid of this file? Does the sound problem go away? If so, then the runwayroll .wav file is probably corrupted and you'll need to grab a fresh copy from your installation CDs.

Thanks for trying to help. I guess this is just one of those oddball glitches.I tried to delte the file and another sound has taken it's place. I now hear the enigne noise. I think I will just reinstall. I hate to do it my FS9 folder is over 18GB with all of the add ons and modifications I have made. But, I want to fly not chase problems. Thanks again for the help and sorry for the shortness of my previous post. I get a little over the top at times. Again my thanks for the help!
