ASE, sky flashing and accurate wx

Featured Replies

I use ASE in Standard Mode since I want to get the most accurate wx possible.  But...I find the "sky flashing" that comes with standard mode annoying.  I know this is a function of ASE using simconnect to get the wx from their servers.

My understanding is that the other modes in ASE don't give you the most accurate wx but, on the positive side, you don't get the sky flashing either.

Have I got any other options?  What about upgrading to ASN?  Any advice welcome.

in my opinion dwc mode is the best and is perfectly fine for accuracy. i don't know if they had that in ASE or just in 2012.

for me it doesnt matter any more since i switched the the newest one.honestly if you haven't tried the ASN demo you should check that out, it is a wonderful improvement on the older versions

cheers

Thanks.  I'm going to  purchase ASN.  Looks like a real improvement over ASE based on the promotional videos I've seen.

ASE features DWC, that's the mode where the clouds pop up and flash.

ASE users are offered the smaller upgrade price of ASN and ASN is a *HUGE* improvement in my book. (up-/downdrafts, turbulence, windshear, wind control, gradual changes in visibility, fog generation, rain fully in sync with cloud positions ...)
