Looks like United Airlines is getting into the low-cost business. And Ted is the name, Ted you ask, How in the world and/or why Ted? Simple....uniTED.

Well, having failed to keep the United Shuttle above water following 9/11, do they really think that having a dumb name will get people to quickly forget how much people really disliked flying that effort?Having had many a bad experience flying the United Shuttle from Oakland to LAX myself, I can tell you that I won't be rushing to see if they learned anything from past experiences. Having moved to Portland, I am now a dedicated Alaska/Horizon Air customer. Far friendlier service than I ever got on United, cleaner, more comfortable planes, and a free beer in the afternoon on Horzon flights (the Q-400 is a beast - what a great airplane!). Bye Ted. Good luck.
