Saitek X52 - can't edit mouse speed

It seems 'stuck': I go into the profile  and can edit most functions as I want, but the sensitivity sliders for the mouse (I want it to move more slowly) are fixed - I can't drag them left or right. Any ideas why this is so? It is programmed as 'fall back'..
