January 25, 201412 yr Hello Opus, since a couple of weeks I experience that DHM disables itself. I just downloaded 3,46.6beta, but to no avail. Also I run OPUS in administrator mode. What's going on? A big deal of the realism comes from the 1. If I check 'Enable DHM' and press OK or Save All Cameras, the check mark vanishes again. 2. In the DHM window, Heavy Aircraft (I fly the 777) I have checked on all sections (Enable for Taxi/Landing, Vibration Effects, Turbulent Bumps/Motion, Bump). 3. I don't like AHM, so switch categories here OFF. 4. Still, clicking OK keeps the check mark 'Enable DHM' OFF again. Please help, and thank you in advance. January 25, 201412 yr Commercial Member Are you refering to a windowed view in which case dhm is not applicable. Stephen
January 25, 201412 yr Author Actually I think I don't use a windowed view at all. What is it? Some extra windows? No, I refer to standard FSX virtual view. Also 'Windowed View' is constantly and always ticked OFF. Whatever I tick on -- Disable View, Default View, Windowed View, Disable TrackIR (don't have this), Enable DHM -- it/they uncheck themselves by clicking OK or Save All Cameras. I notice now, that above o Virtual o 2D o Aircraft the uneditable windows shows 'No Matching Camera Views'. Does this give us a hint? Does Mode (Continuous/Stepped) play a role? I am wondering: Below 'Assign Aricarft Types To Your Camera View' the windows says 'All Aircraft Types', but right next to it shows 'Assigned' 0. Uhm, what next? January 25, 201412 yr Commercial Member Select Virtual cockpit type, enable DHM then click on Save All Cameras, that should do it. If you haven't assigned a specific aircraft or set of aircraft then it will say All Aircraft and the number of assigned aircraft will be 0. Best refer to the Live Camera manual for other details. I believe what you have seen is that the enable DHM option is not saved before opening the DHM dialog. But if you just enable it afterwards and the Save All Cameras all should be Ok. Continuous or stepped has nothing to do with it, they just change the way the arrow keys work. You will find a step by step guide to creating and saving a VC view in the LC manual. Stephen This is the likely reason .... You should not be restricting the camera views you wish to see or edit. This might explain everything. If you have restricted the views you see or edit to a specific aircraft and there are no camera views associated with that aircraft then you are not editing anything unless you click Add New Camera to create a new camera view. Hence the options are not associated with any camera view and ticking them will do nothing. Best to remove the restrict option by clicking on the Restrict Camera Views... Option and selecting All Aircraft. Then you will see ALL your previously created camera views. Please read the Live Camera manual and step through the step by step guide. Stephen
January 25, 201412 yr Author Hi Stephen, Selected Virtual cockpit type, enabled DHM then click on Save All Cameras: The tick marks vanish. I think the reason *is* the missing self-chosen 'Add New Camera' ('No Matching Camera Views'). If a 'Add (a) New Camera' view, I can set Default View, Disable TrackIR and Enable DHM': The tick marks stay after pressing Save/Ok. But why using Camera View at all? Why not off-tick 'Enable Live Camera' in the Configuration Window? If I do that, the before shaded area 'General DHM Options' become editable. What is the difference to tick here 'Enable DHM - VC Views' ON? Thanx in advance. January 25, 201412 yr Commercial Member Hi Andreas I'm not on a mobile phone now so I can answer a little better. The last appended post above is the most likely cause of what you are seeing. The 'Restrict Camera Views You See or Edit' option is intended for those users with hundreds of camera views configured and who want to list only the specific views created for a specified aircraft type to be listed for editing or adding to. For most users you can and should ignore this option and leave the view list unrestricted. That is done by clicking on the option and selecting All Aircraft in the displayed list. After which you can leave the option alone. Stephen When you 'Restrict the Camera Views...' To a specified aircraft type that does NOT have any camera views configured yet the you will get that No Matching Camera Views message. This means there are no camera view records for you to edit and hence none of the options will be altering anything. Unless of course you click on the Add New Camera option to create a new camera view for editing. Much better to do what I said above and not restrict you camera view list to any specific aircraft type. That way you will always see ALL the currently configured camera views in the Select Camera View list. It also makes things easier to create a new view if you can first select a similar view then click Add New Camera as this will clone the existing view for you ready for you to edit it. Stephen If you use Live Camera to create camera views and associate DHM and Bump Aircraft turbulence to your VC views then you will have more freedom and choice in configuring the system. In effect all DHM and Bump Aircraft options will be specific to each aircraft type or group. Whereas if you do not use Live Camera and use the General DHM and Bump Aircraft options then these will be global for the system. You have less options to tweak the DHM and Bump Aircraft for the different aircraft types. You will therefore have to always use Light or Heavy aircraft data sets irrespective of what type of aircraft you are flying. All the DHM related options are Global in other words. It is always best to use Live Camera views as you then have far greater options and control over your system. Stephen
January 25, 201412 yr Author I am happy, my 777 moving again in turbulence! Thanx for your weekend support! However, I use the 'General DHM Options' on the right in the Configuration window now (after disabling 'Enable Live Camera' on the left hand-side). Thank you again. CU. January 25, 201412 yr Commercial Member That's OK and no problem, most earlier replies were a little awkward using the phone in a car. If you mostly fly the heavies the just select the Heavy Aircraft in the General DHM dialog. With the 777, if you want Bump Aircraft turbulence the. start off trying DOF 2 with delay fact 0. If you experience any auto pilot problems try increasing the delay factor or even reverting to DOF 1. But with the tube liners you could also just disable Bump Aircraft since it will achieve little when flying on auto pilot. Regards Stephen
