January 13, 200521 yr Crosswind landings are absolute nightmare :(. I have even increased the "rudder effectiveness" in the aircraft.cfg ... it doesn't make much difference :(Compare the rudder action in MSFS to the rudder action in Airline Simulator 2. Try a full rudder deflection in mid-flight and you will soon lose control ... try it in MSFS and the aircraft yaws a few degrees http://www.sociopranos.com/forums/images/blink.gifThis has been an inherant problem since FS98, IMHO. Rudder power is too weak :(Are there any fixes etc?(P.S. I'm not going to search for every post with "rudder" in it ;)) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
January 13, 200521 yr Author I agree however I don't think the problem is the actual sideslip routine rather than the rudder effectiveness. However some aircraft are better and some are worse. Try some models by RealAir - their freeware C172 modifications or one of their ACA planes (Scout or Deke). They're some of the best for sideslips. The Scout is especially fun since you can plant it almsot anywhere including tiny grass/dirt runways. -
