February 1, 201412 yr I just made a discovery that might be useful to know for those of you running FTX Global. I was warming up for a practice leg into NZKK, and while scouting this airfield I noticed that at night, there were what appeared to be several large bright lights just before the threshold of rwy 15. I flew a practice circuit, and when coming in to land, FSX registered an aircraft crash as I passed near one of these lights. This would make it very difficult to fly a correct approach to this runway. I remembered that I was running FTX Global with the Vector Road Lights option ticked, and wondered if this might have been the problem. So I opened up FTX Central and switched this option off. Going back to look at NZKK at night, hey presto, the lights have disappeared and I can now fly a normal approach pattern successfully. So it looks like these Vector Road Lights can cause aircraft crashes, and some are placed in close proximity to approaches. I'll be running with this option off, at least for the race. I thought I'd share this to prevent anyone having a nasty surprise during the race!
