PFPX and default ATC FSX

Featured Replies

hello all,

is it possible to export a PFPX route into the the FSX default ATC, meaning that I would get the exact heading + altitute indications as in the given PFPX route? if this is possible how can I do it?

many thanks for the ideas!

You won't be able to get any altitude restrictions or STARS/SIDS into it (though some airports especially if done by a 3rd party will sometimes have the STARS programmed into the available approaches).  You should see an option in the export function to export to FSX though.

One thing that will help is to upgrade PFPX's navdata from someplace like Navigraph and at the same time update FSX's intersections with the free file here http://www.aero.sors.fr/navint.html That site has some other tools like updating magnetic variance and updating VORs and stuff but those modify the default files and I'd read a few negatives about that.  The intersections update though is just literally some extra files so you can easily remove them just like addon scenery with no ill effects.  It does tend to mess with the auto-routing if you ever want to use the FSX flight planner for something other than direct GPS though.

I managed to get a copy of the intersections update that matched the currently available release cycle from Navigraph so even though it's a couple months out of date all my addon aircraft (PMDG, QualityWings, etc.) and PFPX, and FSX pretty much match.  Sometimes you have to watch though, an intersection might move a large distance from where FSX default had it and the exported flighplan picks up the original.  Then you end up with a large spike in the wrong direction.
