Editing Water Colors in X-Plane 10

Before you try anything, you're going to need this handy plugin: http://www.xsquawkbox.net/xpsdk/mediawiki/DataRefEditor

The figures that I show are only guidelines. Really, it comes down to personal preference and experimentation

First, open up the "Art Controls" in XP.

 

 

You'll get this confusing window of green writing. Scroll down to where you see these three entries. I highlighted "deep2_b" as this is the one you'll probably only use.

 

 

Here's a dramatic example of what is possible  

 

 

However, for realism I've changed the blue line to about 0.45

It gives a slightly more convincing blue tinge.

For your convenience you can create a little script and load it with the modified settings directly on xplane start-up. You need FlyWithLua Plugin for this.
