Touchdown FX file fx_tchdwn_m.fx

I recently acquired an aircraft addon which references the above file in the Effects section of aircraft.cfg. This file does not appear in any of my FSX systems or my old FS9 system, all of which have fx_tchdwn_s.fx (small) and fx_tchdwn.fx (normal/large) but not fx_tchdwn_m.fx (medium).

 

I asked around, and it seems like this file is unique to P3D. Is that true ?

 

Not a big deal to fix, just curious. But if this is the case it does mean that developers need to take it into consideration when creating models for all three sims.

This file is present in a default FSX (Gold) effects folder.

That's interesting. All my systems are FSX Deluxe Edition (with SP2) and they don't have that file. I have a Gold Edition somewhere, but never installed it.

It looks like this file was introduced with Acceleration. Earlier releases of FSX without Acceleration won't have it.
