Peter's A380 updates

Just looking for some opinons on the new updates. Has the MCDU been propery implemented? From an old Avsim review, the systems look poorly implemented?

 

Engine Hydraulic Pumps

(page 19),

The real A380 has two hydraulic pumps per engine, while X-Plane provides only one. So a click on any of the eight black hydraulic pump buttons effects all.

 

GPU

(Ground Power Unit - page 20),

The A380 has a GPU connection at each engine, while X-Plane supports only one. So all 4 GPU connect buttons on the overhead panel react simultaneously.

 

Fuel tanks

(page 25),

The A380 has 11 fuel tanks while X-Plane supports only 9. So I decided to define only one FEED tank per wing, because they are always more or less at the same quantity level. Nevertheless the fuel

page displays the fuel quantities for all 11 tanks. I installed 2 indicators per feed tank, each showing the partial quantity in the right proportion.

 

Pitch Trim

(page 31),

In the real A380 pitch is trimmed manually only once per flight, right before take-off, by selecting the appropriate TO-Trim. During the flight all pitch trim corrections are made automatically. Manual pitch

trim adjustment is frequently needed while flying manually because this XP model does not have this feature.

 

Flight Envelope Protection

(page 33),

The Flight Envelope Protection has not been implemented. It will be controlled by a plugin in the future.

 

Overspeed Protection

(page 34),

In the real Airbus the overspeed protection system also provides a stall protection by lowering the nose and increasing the thrust on a stall warning. This feature could not be implemented in X-Plane.

 

ECAM SD

(System Display - page 36),

In a real Airbus the main system pages are automatically displayed, depending on the flight phase. We will get there soon with our A380 product. Only the ENGINE page and the FUEL page (+ FUEL

JETTISON sub-page) are available, as well as the Taxi Air Camera display.

 

ND PLAN

mode (Navigation Display - page 40),

PLAN shows the aircraft’s position centered, UP is north. In the real Airbus the next waypoint is in the center (not the aircraft), and only the route with its relevant way points is displayed. This is not

supported by X-Plane.
