Graphics Card onboard or discrete help

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question but it said "Please post all of your FS2004 questions and input here." on the room title.

My PC crashed and burned recently and I decided against building this time an purchased a laptop with on board graphics as well as a Geforce 745M and returned to FS 2004 ACOF.

I have the Nvidia Control Panel configured for FS9 to use the Nvidia card but it doesn't show up in the Hardware section of  FS9.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks.  I think it is actually running on the discrete device but it just isn't reflected in the hardware settings.

It's been 5 years since my last graphics card ( prior to the crash and burn of my homebuilt machine) so I guess it's possible that the onboard graphics could run FS9 good too.

You may need to access your computers BIOS to deactivate the built in graphics system before the GeForce is recognized. I'm not familiar with W8, but if you have access to something like a OS Computer Management system / Device manager, in W8, you could check there to find what is listed, what is used and what can be activated or deactivated.
