  1. Can someone tell me how to use rcv4encrypt.exe to generate the key code for the free RC4 ?? Thank you, Craig
  2. Hi All, I just downloaded and installed the free RC4 and required plugin for X Plane. Can someone tell me how to generate a key using RCv4 Encrypt ? Thank you, Craig
  3. My new machine will have a 500 GB SD. Why leave almost the entire disk unused ? On my current machine Win 10 uses less than 20 Gb.
  4. I don't expect miracles but I do hope to have at least be able to use something from PMDG.
  5. Hi All, Haven't had a new machine since well before P3D was released. My old machine died a quick and painless death so I was left with my laptop with an I7 4th gen 4500U at 1.6 GHz 2 core with a max turbo of 3.0 GHz and an Nvidia 745M. P3D v3 actually runs well as long as the settings are fairly low. At any rate here is my new machine. Intel 6700k @ 4GHz 8 GB DDR4 @ 2666GHz ASUS Z170 Mobo 600W PS GE Force GTX1060 8GB Air cooled Think it will run P3D v3 well? I'm at my budget limit and the parts are ordered. Thanks

  7. Hi All, Thanks you for the tips. Went to a local PC store to price components and since it's been about 10 years since I built a machine it seems that buying vs. build is pretty close. Again since I've been out of the build business I'm behind the curve on components. At one time I had an AMD machine that ran (at the time) games and FS great. Does anyone recommend one over the other? Pros and cons of Intel vs. AMD ? Thanks again
  8. Charlatan, With all due respect you are making assumptions and your statement doesn't help me much. I currently run P3D v3 on An ASUS Q550LF laptop with an I74500U@ 1.8Ghz and a Geforce 745M since my gaming rig crashed and burned. With stock aircraft and medium settings I have no problem getting 20fps but would obviously get better results with a newer build. With that being said why would I be underwhelmed with the machine I asked about ? Respectfully, Craig
  9. Hi All, I've been out of the Flight Sim game for a few years. I am looking for something under $1000 that will run P3D. Would this suffice? Thanks in advance. https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1379615 Craig
  10. >I was just looking at the highly touted C-130 from CaptSim>and saw it was $56.58(39 euros) WOW..... if that was 39 bucks>(USD) I would buy but MAN thats high for an aircraft addon....>Or is it just Me? amd I cheap? the F1 Super 80 is a Superb>aircraft for half that cost.... oh well just venting...>>>It's all relative considering that at this point in time the US Dollaris only worth 67% of the Euro. In the past it would have cost closerto $ 39.00. It used to be that those of us in the US were getting a deal. Those times are gone I'm afraid.Craig
  11. Ed, Using your HD on the new motherboard is most likely not going to work. (http://ask-leo.com/can_i_use_my_old_hard_drives_with_a_new_motherboard.html The best thing to do is to purchase a new Hard Drive (they are pretty inexpensive right now) and reload the OS. Then connect the old HD and get whatever files you need off of it and reformat. Hopefully your old system is still functioning so you can always back up the data prior to moving it. Your old drive would be looking for registry settings, drivers, etc. the were unique to your original MOBO. You can Google it for more info. What is the old mobo and the new one? Is it a PATA or SATA drive?CraigLian Li PC 65B CaseCorsair HX Series CMPSU-620HX 620W Power SupplyPlextor PX-810SA/SW-BL DVD/CDGiagabyte GA-P35-DS3RCrucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)Arctic Freezer 7 ProIntel E6850 Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz 4M shared L2 Cache @ 3.6 GHzEVGA 7950GT KO 512mb 169.21_forceware whqlSeagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATASeagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATAWinXP Pro SP2
  12. Manny, I've had the same problem recently(in the last week) no doubt from an AVG update. The files are legal files downloaded from Flight 1 so it has to be a false positive.CraigLian Li PC 65B CaseCorsair HX Series CMPSU-620HX 620W Power SupplyPlextor PX-810SA/SW-BL DVD/CDGiagabyte GA-P35-DS3RCrucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)Arctic Freezer 7 ProIntel E6850 Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz 4M shared L2 Cache @ 3.6 GHzEVGA 7950GT KO 512mb 169.21_forceware whqlSeagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATASeagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATAWinXP Pro SP2
  13. Ray, It looks like a nice case. The one criteria I had when looking for a new case was that it have a removable motherboard tray. Sure makes it a lot easier when assembling a new machine. I have had no problems with the Corsair. I would buy one again. Craig
