Disabling mesh?

I am using FS global 2010 for mesh and have come across a few airports that appear to be "raised" up on a step of sorts. The one that I use the most is FSDT KLAS and I would like to fly in there without having to fly onto that shelf. 

 

I know it's caused by the change in elevation on the runways but I am curious if by disabling the mesh in the scenery library it would fix this? I didn't want to just go disabling the mesh and cause a bunch of other issues.
