Recommend me Some Cloud Textures

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I use REX4, but recently, I've been getting some incredibly ugly looking 'always grey' clouds.

I've tried multiple textures within REX4 and can't find a way to find some nice fluffy white clouds. The clouds in the shot below are actually 1024px in 32BIT.

I know that these are a stratus clouds, but even my cumulus clouds are grey and lack any decent color.

Is something wrong with my set up or does anyone have a recommendation for a great cloud texture?

REX (not 4) with ASN works fine with me

The weather engine 'tells' the simulator how to draw the clouds.

Which weather engine are you using?

I'm using Active Sky New. However, even with the FSX weather engine and the REX weather engine, I'm getting similar results of really grey clouds.

This shot was taken with REX:OD textures (I find them to be better if I'm honest) and the default FSX weather engine.

I hear Shade can also cause this kind of behaviour, but during this screenshot, I switch Shade back to the FSX default.
