Editvoicepack 3.1 for FS2004

Featured Replies

Hello,

Can someone on this forum tell me if Editvoicepack 3.1 is compatable with Windows Vista Home Premium (64bit).

I use FS9 and have had EVP on my computer in the past but am having trouble installing it now. I have .Net Framework

v3.5, SP1. You have to admit EVP 3.1 is 10 years old.

Any help is preciated.

Mike

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Mike, instead of typing all of the details I will just copy and paste the relevant parts from the read me from EVP 3.1;

System Requirements

EditVoicepack can be installed on any system supporting the .NET Framework version 1.1 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight. This includes Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, and 2003.

First time users

To install EditVoicepack run Setup.exe. If you do not have the .NET Framework version 1.1 installed you will be directed to a download page at Microsoft. The recommended .NET Framework package for EditVoicepack is .NET Framework Version 1.1 Redistributable. After installing the .NET Framework it is recommended to perform a Windows Update to ensure you have the latest security patches for the framework installed.

The important parts:

Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, and 2003. -----------Doesn't say it will run on newer OS systems. Does Vista 64 have 32 bit compatibility mode?

Net Framework 1.1 is required ----------------it may not play nice with newer versions of Net Framework. Just install 1.1, I have all versions installed just to avoid any such nuisances.

Regards,

Mel

Runs fine under Vista and Win 7. No tweaks are needed.

I'll put v1.1 of Net Framework to see if EVP will install and thanks Jim for letting me know about Vista.

By the way, Mel, I'm not really sure about the 32 bit compatibility but will look into it.

Thanks to both of you.

Mike

No, you don't need to install .NET. Vista has it already.
