It was like I liberated three of my four CPUs today: I casually decided to delete all the cruft 32-bit Java had been installing on my Windows 8.1 system.... and lo and behold!  The whole thing literally feels like it's running 4x as fast!

 

Someone please kill Oracle, and Java, permanently, please? :angry:

 

Every time Java updates, it defaults itself to storing "gotcha crap" on your computer.

 

Yet another chore to remember.

 

Computer slow? Delete all the crap Java stores on your system! In Control Panel.

 

Hope that helps someone like it did me, today.

 

 

It also helps with fighting malware: You close a couple of open doors that way.
