March 29, 201412 yr I just reinstalled Win7 and am in the process of reinstalling all of my programs. When trying to install PF2000 from my CD, during the search for files part of the installation I get an error window popup, "Setup32 has stopped working". In the process of trying to find a solution I made a serious mistake. This scenario is posted on the Oncourse/PFE forum under "Setup32 has stopped working." After a google search concerning the Setup32 issue, On the advice of a suggestion or two I unchecked all of the services and startup items in msconfig to disable them. When this proved to not be a solution to my PF2000 installation I checked all again in an attempt to enable them again. Big mistake, as some of them refuse to be enabled now. I have tried both in msconfig and services.msc and cannot change back to any of the options that would enable the applicable services. I sure hate the idea of having to start over, but fear that my only solution may be to go back to go and do another clean installation of win7. If anyone knows of a solution for either of these problems, I sure would appreciate your help. Respectfully: RTH
March 29, 201412 yr http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2495-services-start-disable.html I am not sure if you can restart them all, but don't forget that some are dependant on others. So if service x needs service y to run, you will not be able to start service x until you have y started. So just go one by one and restart each time. Also, a bit late, but maybe it helps other people: If you don't have a deep understanding of what you are doing, be careful! Disabling startup items is always save, but screwing around with services without knowing what you are doing is not! Like I said, I would go one by one. Google is your friend. If you can't restart a service, google "how to restart xxx service" and I will bet you the 1st hit will help you out.
