How can you assign options to buttons from within ATC in FSX?

Featured Replies

I'm using a USB interface 2125 from Desktop Aviator to add custom switches and buttons to my sim and so far it's working very well. What I'd like to do is assign buttons to the options from within the ATC. Usually you have to choose 1-9 from the keyboard to choose things such as what airport you wish to contact. My question is how do I assign the buttons to choose these options. Is this possible?

Hope I've explained this properly and have posted in the correct forum.

Thanks

I'm not familiar with the 2125, but the ATC options on any given ATC window are selected by numeric value 1,2,3,4 etc. You cannot assign specific responses to specific keys, since the values will change depending on which ATC options are available on the current ATC window.

Thanks for the response. I just hate having to use the keyboard. I think I'm going to get a miniture keyboard which will help some. Would have been nice to assign buttons.

Thanks again.

I use MCE to talk to ATC, and it's excellent. But before I switched to MCE, I used to use the GoFlight ATC Module.

Amongst other things, it has a rotary pushbutton and display to select ATC options by number. Quite neat.

Interesting. I'll have to check into both of those once I get my system back to normal.

I was able to find an answer in how to key the 2125 to work and that was to make assignements from within FSUIPC. Now it works fine.

Thanks
