Interesting. I'll have to check into both of those once I get my system back to normal. I was able to find an answer in how to key the 2125 to work and that was to make assignements from within FSUIPC. Now it works fine. Thanks

Ric, as I am doing a lot of modifications right now I think I'll try to uncheck as many of the assignments as I can within FSX and make sure they're running through FSUIPC as much as possible. I'll try again with the TQ6 and see what happens. If I remember correctly, I think I couldn't get it to recognize the negative number when trying to set. I thought I had tried every option including the reverse setting with no success. Everything was working from within the Control Panel calibrating area. When I checked the setting back within FSX and went back into FSUIPC it worked again. Haven't used the PMDG yet but would like to try it eventually. Especially, if I rebuild my system for faster frame rates one last time. Mitch

Ric, I've got the paid version. My son stopped over and we got it working. Thanks for the help. One issue I did have with FUIPC4 is my TQ6 flaps I couldn't get to work unless I checked them from within FSX. Kinda weird but as long as I got it to work I was fine with it. Mitch

Drat!!! It really kills the realism having to use the blasted keyboard. Guess I'll assign the buttons to other items. Think I'm going to be ordering a miniture keyboard to at least make it less obtrusive. Thanks anyway Jim. Mitch

I'm using a USB interface model 2125 from Desktop Aviator to assign some buttons and switchens and it works very well. What I'd like to be able to do is assign buttons 0-9 to choose selections from within the ATC such as selecting airports etc.. Unfortunately, I don't see how I can do this like I've done for assigning other things such as Auto Pilot options etc.. I would think this would be possible. I'm hoping I won't have to use the keyboard for these. Thanks Mitch

I'm using a USB interface 2125 from Desktop Aviator to add custom switches and buttons to my sim and so far it's working very well. What I'd like to do is assign buttons to the options from within the ATC. Usually you have to choose 1-9 from the keyboard to choose things such as what airport you wish to contact. Got the answer guys. I'm not sure why but, there was a file which was just "fsx". It just wasn't listed with the cfg after it. There is another check box in the "Folders Options" for removing the extension file. Once I unchecked that it all made sense. Thank you much for your help. Mitch

Been making a lot of updates on my system after replacing my old video card. In making some changes to the fsx.cfg file, I noticed it still listed my old video card so I decided to remove it after having read that if you do this, fsx will re-make a new one the next time it starts up. My problem is that it doesn't appear to have been re-made. It's no longer in the file where it was originally. I kept the old file in another folder for safe-keeping. Any ideas on why this would be? Path I'm using is C:users/name/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FSX Files are not hidden because it was there originally. Mitch

I like using the stock ATC with FSX and have a question regarding an altimeter reading that is mentioned after connecting with a new contact. Example = "United 209, Mansfield Approach, roger, Altimeter 3006." That reading of 3006 seems to be used quite a bit and I don't understand what it's referring to as it certainly isn't where I'm at. It seems to be the same coming from other locations as well. Thanks

I think what it was Jim is that when I downloaded the new one I didn't click on "Run as administrator". I re-installed the old version and everything is back to normal. Now all the options match up again. Thanks for the help, Mitch

Jim, that's weird. Yes I do have the MS Flight Simulator X profile selected but it is definetly different. One other thing I noticed was the little icon at the top is not highlighted. I drew an arrow in red in my first attachement. In the directions located here that I'm going from http://www.simforums.com/forums/settings-for-new-drivers-updated-v1959_topic36586.html this is step 2. Between the two attachements you can see what I'm getting. Sorry Jim, I've got to log onto my other computer to see where I have to load the pictures to attach. Jim, the wording seems different on all of my options. I kind of gave up at guessing which was correct when I got to the "Antialiasing - Setting". The suggested setting is "8xS Combined: 1x2 SS +4x MS". I don't see anything close to this in my new version. Which setting are you using for this option? It might be easier to just count the lines down instead of trying to type up the whole thing. I think I read in my travels trying to find an answer where there is something in Microsoft Update that re-sets everything. Whatever it was, something re-set it because I was back to the jaggies again. I had done a lot of updates through Microsoft and downloaded the latest video card driver. Thanks

Guys, I just downloaded the latest nVidia drivers for my GeForce 8800GTS 640MB video card and did a lot of updating of Microsoft stuff. It reset all of my nVidiaInspector settings so I decided to update to the newest one which is version 1.9.6.9. My problem is that it is so differant from the old version that I don't know what settings to use. Anyone else do this? I searched using the new version number and FSX but only was able to find suggested settings for version 1.959. I guess I can close or remove the newer version and see if I can run the older one again. Mitch

My good friend Bill who got me into flight simming will be 90 in May 2013. May 11th I think. He still flies but not as much because he also does a lot of video work on his system. I'll be 52 in April.

Was reading the Wikipedia take on FSX and was surprised to see that they claim the following under HARDWARE COMPATIBILITY: " There is also a bug which involves an incompatibility with Windows 7 where it causes a 'Fatal Error', which Microsoft has yet to correct." I've never heard of this and use Windows 7 all the time. Seems like nonsense to me. Somone should edit it.

Well, I think they figure if you don't stay till the end that it's a pretty good indication that you didn't like the movie. They had no problem giving us our money back. This was the first time I've ever walked out on a movie.

I'm serious as a heart attack! We stuck it out for almost 2 hours and finally reached our limit.

Very offensive crappy movie. Both my wife and I got our money back! Should have listened to some reviews from other people that had seen it. Typical liberal bias as usual in the film. Make christians look like idiots. Make the owner of the airlilnes look like a complete imbecile interested in money only. The only thing missing were jabs at our military. Theatre only had about 6-8 other people watching it when we left. Only good thing about it was the popcorn was good.

I purchased a small USB sound card with headphone jack that I use strictly for communicating with ATC (And sometimes some music.) You can set your sound within FSX to have the ATC come only from the USB sound card which really ads to the realism. The USB sound cards are dirt cheap on E-bay. Only a few bucks if I remember correctly. Mitch

I once had a brake problem with mine. I ended up opening them up and found a wire that had come loose or broken. After fixing that, they work fine now. Mitch
