TWEAK FPS...

I have been sitting on the fence with regard to this product. I'd like to squeeze as much out of my aging system as possible, but if I understand the program correctly, you cannot switch scenarios "on the fly," meaning, for example, you can't turn down complexity, say, during the take-off roll or during approach and landing (where you'll want stutter-free performance), and then turn it back up again while you're taxiing in. If I remember correctly "FS Assist" from Lago was able to do that, that is to say, you could specify certain fps setting for different phases of flight.ricardo

<>I have always wondered if there is a way to do that without having to pause the sim and go change a bunch of settings. But for years, when flying low IFR approaches into dense scenery areas like ORD or LAX, instead of leaving my cloud densities where they were during the enroute portion, I would pause the sim, and eliminated ALL clouds and ALL AI traffic then reset visibility to 1/2 mile.It was sort of a pain to do that but a worse pain to get a slide show on short final. As for the settings, using 1/2 mile viz gives you the exact same impression of being in cloud...but withut the frame rate hit and you aren't likely to get a traffic call on short final. If there is traffic there, you will be alerted by the sickening crunch of aluminium.I have always wondered if some utility could be written that would accomplish those setting changes with a keystroke.Regards,Jim

Wonder why Lago didn't make FS Assist for FS 2002 and FS 2004??We need FPS managers for these versions also.Barry

I Call These PROGS.............SNAKE OIL.......Just read the various forums and you will see plenty of FREE tips....TWEEK are system specific and there is no real one PROG fix...This PROG fails to take into account those of US who use SimFlyers and FlyTampa scenerys.Sorry to sound negative......Ive tried most everything and ended up going back to default settings.
