Finding the Nearest Airports (Radio)

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there is a config setting to set this function to at least include the nearest Class A and Class B airports in the list presented. It is frustrating in early approach phase to sometimes not be able to tune the tower and ATIS using this function until about 18-20 miles out, while getting a number of small fields listed that are farther away!I know I can tune the radio manually, but doing so would just put me in a "listen mode". I belive FLY2 had a .ini file that you could tweak. Thanks,Bill G, KSAT

Bill, I don't know of one but in the spirit of "real as it gets" you might want to jot down the freqs off the Map view before you leave. And many of them are in the GPS if you have to diver enroute and don't want to pause to go to map view.Someone else may chime in here who knows about some of the add-on Navigator programs (none of which I use) that can be called up without pausing the sim (I think???) and will have what you need.Regards,Jim

Thanks Jim,I am doing that more frequently. Just requires more pre-planning which is indeed more real. I just wish that if you manually tuned the radios, you could initiate communications.Bill G, KSAT
