Airspeed Control By Autopilot

Featured Replies

Q: How to make the autopilot faster responsive so that speed is closelt maintained.

I guess it's got to do with the PID settings of the speed controller...

Where is is usually coded? In the gauge, in the fde, the aircraft.cfg?

Not sure I was clear...

Thanks for your help.

It would help to know the specific aircraft and/or whether your problem is with a jet or a turboprop aircraft. The only PID settings I'm aware of are the ones in the autopilot section that control tracking of the NAV and Glideslope.

As far as I know, the only autothrottle variables are autothrottle_max_rpm and max_throttle_rate. If there are others, they probably are not accessable by the user.

Thanks

I fear it's gauge file-controlled...
