  1. Thanks Assign Administrator rights to makerwys.exe in \FS9 and it did the trick. Thank you again Ghiom
  2. Yes, already checked and it's not. only a4.csv is current.
  3. Thanks for the reply I did change my setup and scenery.cfg has been updated. Still there seems to be no update to the scenery db after a very quick rebuild, against when it usually takes 20-30 secs and you see all the files being scanned.
  4. Hello I am used to rebuilding my scenery DB using the command button in RCv. My fs9 path is d:\fs9. I just wanted to do it today but although the process starts and finishes, nothing is updated. In fact the process takes 1-2 secs when it used to be more in the 15-30secs the last times I did it. I haven't changed anything to my setup and RCv4 works fine otherwise. Thank you Ghiom
  5. Yes, I must admit I like when my planes fly the rails. The FS environment is not designed for too much realism. I don't have a copilot with me! My main complain with the iFly planes is that no matter how you plan your VNAV deacent with wind forecast and alt restriction, you ALWAYS ens up overspeeding on the path especially due to the high initial descent rate (almost a dive). I have exchanged this at length on the iFly forum and it's not unusual in the real world it appears. Yet it bothers me.
  6. The level-d 767 is much much easier to handle than the ifly 747. Manual flying and AP response (especially under acceleration). The iFly is very good system wise but not as good as the level-d for dynamics and AP control in general. Perhaps because with (much) lesser FPS, the AP is lagging behind. I know the iFly FDE have been discussed. My view is that iFly probably made it too realistic for a PC simulator with the flip side that it's difficult to handle and very sensitive to FS weather and environment. For leisure flyer like me, I'd rather have it a bit more forgiving. My 2 cents. Ghiom
  7. If you aren't happy with the Level-D don't even consider iFly addons when it comes to smoothness and fps from VC.
  8. In fact it's been 10 years this addon has been released and it is still for me the best commercial airplane for FS9. It's bug-free, FPS friendly, reliable and still good looking. Yes it could receive a face lift (especially the VC) and have an improved FMC (actually the VNAV descent is buggy when two many constraints are set in the flightplan). But thanks Level-D for 10 years of fun. Ghiom
  9. Where can I see what these EVO2015 pictures look like? What textures does it update? Only sky and clouds or even scenery? Thanks Ghiom
  10. Is there a video somewhere of a real 747 descending in idle mode where I can see on the PFD the pitch and the v/s? Thanks Ghiom
  11. ThanksDo you know which one it is? Could not find it online... So I need to assume their model isn't correct?
  12. Thanks for all the follow up. Why isn't the Simfest 747 simulator plummetting upon initial FLCH descent?
  13. Very interesting. In FLCH at high altitude and FMC calculated speed, my iFly 747 will sink like a stone. I don't see the same in the posted video at 1h40+ Interesting...
  14. Good news Have you identified the culprit?
  15. I am convinced it is caused by a memory leak.
  16. Best free FS9 scenery ever! :Applause: :Applause: :Applause: :Applause: :Applause: Now I am dreaming of the same quality for Calgary CYYC!
  17. I tend to agree with you Jon. Sometimes I wonder why addon developpers could not start from freeware external models which already look perfectly great and focus on dynamics and system modelling. Maybe because it s not a perfect world...
  18. I agree it s great to see the amount of work put in the 747 and still on the 737. I am highly hopeful to be able to take them both out of the hangar for a ride. It s great that FS9 still gets provided with great addon. However a comment if I may: i am a bit surprised that they released the 747 considering the amount of changes that will occur in the SP... Same for the 737: still some fixes after... 3 years? Anyway it s never too late to do well. Thanks iFly.
  19. I have had this error in the past. Not recently though. For me it s the result of a memory issue or when the sim is overwhelmed and can't keep up and crashes. I guess there is nothing to do about it. Ghiom
  20. I don t disagree as i am still on FS9. Yet what s the point in having a nice stable platform if there is very little to fly on with (commercial airliners at least)...
  21. Are there good FDE for the old PSS 777? Thank you Ghiom
  22. Nothing better than the good old Level-D 763 has been made. IFlys are far from the quality of the Level-d even if much better than the rest of FS9 half cooked projects: Feelthere, PSS, CLS... Only PMDG could have done better for FS9...
  23. Unfortunately FS9 is dying. I am still using since day 1. But the lack of new products (aircrafts/scenery) is making me move to something else: P3D? PMDG should have continued develop products for FS9. At least they could have been used... Ghiom
  24. Jon_aus: I fully agree. Most important is the flyability of the addon: FDE, autopilot, systems. The rest is just the cherry on top. I would not list 737 ifly at the top of the list. Flyability from the VC is average (due to the limited refresh rate of the main gauges) and in my system, AP and FD are unpredictable. Systems are top notch and bug free. To me, the best overall compromise is still the senior level-d 767. Rather than spending a lot of money in development, a developer would be better thought to update the existing platform and code with better visuals, maybe a retrofit LCD cockpit. And from that you can easily do a 757.... But i am speaking as if i was in an ideal world. I know that will never happen. Ghiom
