Using goflight panels with PMDG Aircrafts, general question

Featured Replies

Dear all fellow simmers,

First of all, I want to mention that Im not looking a support how to assign buttons or how to program using lua plugins with gf panels. I know this is not the place for those questions as it is PMDG support forum. I also would like to add that I have searched hundreds and hundreds of time the web regarding these topics and I have found a lot of information, but not really related to my question below.

Im using only PMDG addon aircrafts with my fsx, as these are the best ac addons around and Im now trying to take my home simulation a bit further. I have multiple gf panels, mainly GF-T8, GF-RP48, GF-P8 and the LGT-II and the GF-TQ6 module. At the moment, im using only the latest FSUIPC to assign all the buttons and switches with the MD-11, 747, 737NGX and the mighty 777, merely using keyboard shortcuts when a button is pressed.

So far so good. Now I want to take this a bit further, and Ive studied a lot of lua plugins and asked also support from Mr. Dowson at FSUIPC forum. I want to make the leds on and off according to the real position of the switch in the VC. For that I need to use the lua plugin.

Now my question is to all of you using PMDG A/C's and GF modules; how are you using those and which way are you assigning things? using lua-plugins/FSUIPC or perhaps the Goflight PMDG Interface?

Im asking this because I would like to do it the "best" way from the beginning and also to avoid any possible conflicts. I know there is no correct way to do it as all systems and setups are different, but in general would be nice to know some tips from you.

Many thanks in advance!
