Amazing experience
Dear Community, Almost 6 months of not flying, I had the time to do a flight with the mighty T7 freighter from PANC-EFHK (addon airports). I was wise enough to update all the bells and whistles the day before, so it would not take the time from the flying. Anyway, fired up the sim, used real time weather and planned the route using PFPX... Entered the cockpit and I was amazed that even though I had a 6 months break, my memory was not totally formatted itself .... The plane was ready to takeoff after a rough 30mins... Taxied to rw33 and made a beautyfull takeoff... wow.. everything works, I did not make mistakes (at least not many...) and few moments later, happily cruising in FL320 (she was quite heavy). At this point I was really happy that everything run smoothly, no stutters, no problems whatsoever... Enabled the time compression and did some other thigns in the meanwhile and after couple of hours, disable it and started to plan my decent and landing. I was almost 100% sure that something will go wrong during the landing... meaning that either I get OOM, or at least I will .... up the landing myself... Planned the landing in full flaps configuration in rwy 15 from where I have a short taxi to the cargo apron... and voila! At the time of capturing glide slope I was full configured and hand flying the mighty beast... Nice touchdown and taxi to a stop. This made me really happy and Im all excited again for FSX! After the long pause in my simming, it was still very very easy to put yourself in the shoes of a captain. I just want to say the plane is a best addon I have ever encountered for FSX and PMDG´s touch for detail is amazing. Thank you PMDG for providing this bird and I sure hope the 744v2 will be as good as this - cause im not sure is there anyway to make better aircraft than the T7? I will sure fly today again! (and for this I have to thank my wife and kids, who are away from home couple of days) :Big Grin: Cheers Seme

Emirates PERF INIT and SOP update
Hi Leo, While im only flying with my own virtual airline and own liveries, I have to say the this forum continues to surprise me. There are always people like you who want to share their knowledge to others in order to gain as real as it gets environment. Amazing stuff, thank you for sharing! Always interesting to read such topics! Cheers

Lovin' the TSeven...
Hi Richard, Great story! Im in the same boat as you. I dont have much time to be spent for flying, and on top of the time issue, I have also started a "general home cockpit project", which means that most of the time I have, goes into fiddling with the cockpit project. However, now the project is in a state that I could actually do some flying after 3 months or so and im planning to do that tonight. Sometimes I wonder how the fellow simmers has the time to sit behind the cockpit for 8hrs (or even more) flight? If I would be doing that few times a week, my wife and kids would probably have something to say... so, I will try to fly when it does not interfere too much my family, ie when the kids are sleeping:) well, still have an unhappy wife, but we can manage:) Anyway, reading posts like this makes me want to go flying with the T7 right, away as in my opinion, the T7 is as real as it gets! Happy flying everyone! Cheers

Upgrading to P3D
Hi all, Interesting topic... While im still using FSX at the moment and probably will stuck with it as long as it is possible, I do understand the point here, asking bundle deals (again) etc. That would obviously lower the bar for many simmers to move from FSX to P3D. However, I do understand PMDG point as well. They are running a business here and not a charity. Like myself, im sure many simmers has spent many thousand dollars/euros for their high end PC´s, the sim and all the bell´s and whistles in it, so in that perspective, is it that big deal investing couple of hundred dollars for a "totally new" sim experience that you choose yourself to move to? I dont want to sound harsh or rude, so I hope no one takes this as any kind of insult - just saying... Cheers

747 PMDG FSX WITH LINDA
Hi there, You should sign your post as per the forum rules. Anyway, that aside I have the combo as well (not the boeing style though) and it works like charm with Linda. However, I did had some issues with it in the first place, but found some help from the Linda support forum. First I would make sure that you have the latest version of Linda. Then you can try to use the Serialfp2 to check what com port is assigned and make sure you have the correct settings in Linda. I would refer to their support forum Cheers Thomas Schmiedeke

Newbie question for new Monitor
Dear fellow simmers, At the moment im using 1 x old 22" monitor (1280x1024) for my FSX and obviously, when flying (VC), you can barely read the PFD/MFD from there unless you click to pop it open. My question is, if I will buy a new 27" monitor, does it actually make it more readable? Should I go to 1920x1080? Then im not sure how my rig would handle that, as with todays setup i can make 18-26 fps on add-on airport with the T7. I know my current rig lack´s the perfomance, but so far im still quite happy how it performs - given that ofcourse I need to sacrify some of the graphic settings... Anyway, I quess my question is: 1. If I buy new 27" monitor, will i get more view with the same resolution (mainly to be able to read the pfd/mfd) or do i need to go for higher resolution? 2. if going to higher resolution, how much would that affect on the fps? 3. or should I just park here, get the new monitor and use the old monitor as a second one for the pfd/mfd etc? what is the affect on that for fps? My current rig: i6, 3,2ghz, 8gb, 480gtx, 2 separate HDD´s.... (this was fairly high end machine back in 2010 ) Cheers Thomas

WXR-ASN-FSX Interface Questions
Hi Austin, Im by no means an expert, but if the weather is cleared even you are not commanding it, i quess something is wrong with the setup. Maybe something in FSUIPC (if you are using it?). ASN needs to be running to make the WX radar to work, so it needs to be open. You can run it also networked, if you have 2nd PC. That would help to ease up the load from the FSX machine. Ans as the other said already, you can create custom WX scenarios in ASN and experiment different conditions. Cheers Thomas Schmiedeke

Hats off to the T7
Indeed, I fully agree with all your points! :Applause: Its bloody cold out here (EFHK) as well, -14 degrees, so better not take my hat off actually... :Big Grin: Happy flying!

Hats off to the T7
Hi All, After a quite a long pause, I finally had some time to make a short hop with the T7 Freighter (EHAM-EFHK) and I just wanted to post a topic and say how happy I was! For this flight I was using Aerosoft EHAM&EFHK, FSGlobal2010, REX Direct, ASN, PFPX, VOXatc, Aivlasoft efb, fscaptain and everything (for a change) worked like charm, no ctd´s or ooms or any other issues. It was very windy at EHAM and the takeoff took place from rwy 27 with winds gusting to +30 knots... (11.1.2015 09:00 local). After the takeoff, straight forward climb to FL350, strong tailwind and the flight time was less than 2 hours... Decending to EFHK, winds (16kt) was coming from 280 so had to make crosswind landing on rwy 33... What an amazing experience to fly by hand! Reason for posting? Eh, well, have been reading this forum a lot and many fellow simmer is experiencing problems and posting questions, so for a change I thought to drop a short post and say that its an amazing thing when everything works fine and you are able to complete the whole flight from cold and dark to securing the a/c. Absolutely an amazing product! Do I dare to say that I cant wait the 747 v2 to show up... (ofcourse I can and will wait ) Wish you all a nice start for the new week! Cheers! Thomas S.

Virtual Cdu
Just to add my two cents for this app, I just bought the Virtual CDU for the T7 (using an android tablet) and I have to say the that's probable the best 15 eur spent ever! Amazing piece of software and works very very fast. Finally I can have a CDU with a cheap tablet, rather than spent a fortune for the real replica. Excellent app! Cheers Seme

For anyone having FPS issues with the SP1b
Thanks for the info, good to hear about similar solutions.... Hahaha, I guess he found out:) Oh yes, the root cause... I would love to find that out. It was really strange, you would think that running the latest update would make the product better, instead it make it worse... Well, Im not actually pointing out any fingers, might be my rig or any of the software im running, which is the bottleneck... But for me it worked and Im just a happy camper now that Im getting decent FPS, which means the its flyable! Yiiihaa! Cheers

For anyone having FPS issues with the SP1b
Dear community, I just recently updated my 777 base package to SP1 and then SP1b, which after I was shocked that for some unknown reason, my FPS's were down from +20 to 7-9 fps.. I was very disappointed and frustrated, but decided to go for the complete re-install of the 777. I worked through the steps as guided in the post... First, the base package, then started fsx, loaded Flytampa OMDB, loaded 777 and started AS next. Average FPS 23.3. I was happy. Then installed SP1, fired up FSX the same way as with the base package and got average 22.6 fps. Still happy. Then the SP1b, again the same way as previously, fired up FSX with same settings, and voila, average 23.6 fps. I quess the point of this post is to advise people that when they face problems, there might be a solution around the corner. Yes, I did hate to do the reinstall, but, then again, it was worth of the 20min hassle. This forum is a great place to find solution and there is a lot of people here willing to help. I hope this helps someone who is having similar issues. Cheers

Do you use Active Sky Next?
I will join with the others - its fantastic and works really well with the T7. I have not had much time to fiddle around with the weather radar, but the first impression is great and you can find few videos presenting the WX. At least Kyle Rodgers and Froogle has made a video out of it. Happy flying! Cheers

Flight Planning w/PFPX and the 737/777
Hi Gary, As David said, that´s a very good approach on how to fiddle with the weights. That´s the way Im doing it as well. Im also using FSCaptain, so that will give me the payload. I will use this figure with PFPX on the planning stage, then enter the values in the FMS as David pointed out. Works like charm. Cheers Thomas

Using goflight panels with PMDG Aircrafts, general question
Dear all fellow simmers, First of all, I want to mention that Im not looking a support how to assign buttons or how to program using lua plugins with gf panels. I know this is not the place for those questions as it is PMDG support forum. I also would like to add that I have searched hundreds and hundreds of time the web regarding these topics and I have found a lot of information, but not really related to my question below. Im using only PMDG addon aircrafts with my fsx, as these are the best ac addons around and Im now trying to take my home simulation a bit further. I have multiple gf panels, mainly GF-T8, GF-RP48, GF-P8 and the LGT-II and the GF-TQ6 module. At the moment, im using only the latest FSUIPC to assign all the buttons and switches with the MD-11, 747, 737NGX and the mighty 777, merely using keyboard shortcuts when a button is pressed. So far so good. Now I want to take this a bit further, and Ive studied a lot of lua plugins and asked also support from Mr. Dowson at FSUIPC forum. I want to make the leds on and off according to the real position of the switch in the VC. For that I need to use the lua plugin. Now my question is to all of you using PMDG A/C's and GF modules; how are you using those and which way are you assigning things? using lua-plugins/FSUIPC or perhaps the Goflight PMDG Interface? Im asking this because I would like to do it the "best" way from the beginning and also to avoid any possible conflicts. I know there is no correct way to do it as all systems and setups are different, but in general would be nice to know some tips from you. All comments are appreciated Many thanks in advance! Cheers Thomas Schmiedeke

PMDG 777 Freigther and Linda issue (strange)
Dear All, I have solved the problem, or at least found a way to overcome the issue... I got the MCP working again, but only If I assign all the knobs and dials from scratch within linda. I have never had to do this as it worked fine with the 777 pax version in the beginning. Strange... nevertheless, I shall do that and im back to flying.. TOMWER0501: If you need more details, drop me an email or pm me. Cheers Thomas

PMDG 777 Freigther and Linda issue (strange)
Hi, Thanks for the input anyway, appreciate it a lot. I will update this post if I can get it to work again. I shall wait if Artem can help me out. I will also check the fsuipc as guenseli said. I dont think that is the problem as i started fsuipc on a fresh table with 0 assignments...... will see... Cheers Thomas
