Textures problem

Featured Replies

Hi,I have a problem with all the add-ons that i can try. The textures of the add-on are always under the Microsoft ones when i'm on the ground but they start to appear as i climb over the airport. I tried installing them in the addon scenery folder, in a separate folder and it does the same thing. I tried about 60 different airports, one payware, and it's the same for every file. I do put them on a higher level when installing them. Here are some pics to show you the problem.Thanks.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106605.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106606.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106607.jpg

Can it be that you have set your terrain mesh complexity to a very low level.? Try to cranck it up to 100 and see if that cures it.Alex

Hi,My terrain mesh complexity is set at 100. Just tried a new fs9.cfg, but it didn't change anything.

I'm just a noobie, but to me it looks like a layering type thing. But I don't know how to fix it. Judging by the aircraft, you're either in NA or you're really short of fuel. I'll assume you're in NA. Get Justin's mesh, and try it then. You don't really want it to work until you get it to work with that anyway. It's here on Avsim. Good luck!billg

sorry, my bad, I didn't read your whole post. Hmmm, don't know what to say. Maybe you installed something earlier? And, because it's mesh it takes higher priority without you having to say so? I'd check that out. Look in your addon directory for stuff you don't know is there. Believe me, it happens. If I want to go somewhere totally new, I look there. Dosn't matter that I installed it 2 mths ago, it's new now and not even in my mind. Give that a try. Sorry I couldn't help more. And sorry for the mis-advice earlier. And now I mean it.....Good luck!billg

I checked for mesh files, but the problem can happen anywhere around MS world. I only have two mesh files, Canada and Hawaii. The pics are in Gibraltar, and i tried this week to install sceneries in France and the UK and not a single one worked. The buildings are there, AFCAD files worked, but i still can't see the ground texture while on ground... :( I guess i'll just won't install add-on sceneries anymore. That will solve my problem... :-hah

It's an issue of excluding certain default .bgl files. The author may have specified which default files need to be moved in a readme file along with the download. Check the download to see if the author included a readme. Before doing anything, though, put the add-on at the top of the priority list and see if that helps. In either case, this is something I think is more related to how the add-on was compiled by the author rather than anything you did or failed to do.If that doesn't work, try completely reformatting your hard drive and reinstalling windows xp along with FS. In steps, incrementally, so you can identify which .bgl file is the culprit. This process should take between 4 - 7 days to do.That very last line was not meant seriously. Please do not reformat your drive.
