February 13, 200521 yr I downloaded the Jet City installer exe file then scanned the file with Antiy Ghostbusters (Antiy Ghostbusters can detect and kill Trojans, backdoors and worms) (I scan all files I download). The Ghostbusters software found that the exe file is a backdoor.DSSdoor.aMy question is what is a backdoor.DSSdoor.a and can it harm or infect my computer?
February 13, 200521 yr Hi,I downloaded the JetCity installer and then ran an extra scan with McAfee. No viruses found :)However JetCity uses the Flight1 wrapper system, that is code enabling you to connect to the internet and make an online purchase of the product. My guess is that your antivirus program is a little bit to sensitive about this code in the installer program. If you feel uncomfortable with the situation I would recommend you to download another installer from Flight1 (flight1.com) and run your anti virus program on that one as well. If a backdoor is reported on that file as well I would recommend you to look for another anti virus protection ;-) (My recommendation is based on the assumption that you have a solid firewall protection and your computer is clean)Good luck :-) Ulf B
February 14, 200521 yr Author Thanks for the reply.I didn't realize Jet City had their own forums, so I asked this question over there too. I run Antiy Ghostbusters to detect and kill Trojans, backdoors and worms but I use Norton Anti-virus to detect and kill viruses. I did scan the exe file with Norton and it came back clean, so maybe Antiy Ghostbusters is wrong with this one?
